Antenatal Shared Care

What is Antenatal Shared Care?

Antenatal Shared Care at Croydon Medical Centre provides a collaborative approach to pregnancy care, combining the expertise of your GP and a hospital-based obstetric team. This model allows you to receive regular check-ups and support from your trusted GP while still accessing specialist care at the hospital during key stages of your pregnancy. It's designed to provide convenience, continuity of care, and personalised attention throughout your pregnancy journey.

How We Can Help?

Our Antenatal Shared Care service offers comprehensive care and support for expecting mothers:

  • Regular Check-ups with Your GP: Receive ongoing pregnancy check-ups with your GP, ensuring convenience and continuity of care throughout your pregnancy.
  • Coordination with Hospital Care: Seamless coordination between your GP and hospital-based obstetric team, ensuring you receive specialised care when needed.
  • Personalised Pregnancy Care: Tailored advice and support for a healthy pregnancy, including nutrition, exercise, and managing pregnancy-related symptoms.
  • Monitoring and Screening: Routine monitoring of your baby’s development, blood pressure, and other key health indicators, along with necessary screenings and tests.
  • Referral for Specialist Care: If any complications arise, we work closely with specialists to ensure you receive timely and expert care at the hospital.
  • Postnatal Support: Continued care after your baby is born, including support with breastfeeding, recovery, and adjusting to parenthood.

Our Antenatal Shared Care service is designed to provide the best of both worlds: the familiarity and convenience of care from your GP, along with access to hospital-based specialists when needed. We’re committed to making your pregnancy experience as smooth and supported as possible.
